The Central Addictions Registry for Drugs, Singapore (CARDS) was an electronic prescription monitoring system implemented in October 2005 for the control of buprenorphine abuse by preventing buprenorphine users from "doctor-hopping". The CARDS system also evolved in July 2006 to supplement a nationwide Subutex Voluntary Rehabilitation Programme (SVRP) for the buprenorphine users, providing functions beyond prescription monitoring to include tracking of patient status in SVRP.
