VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh Diabetes Federation (APDF) will organise two-day XIV annual conference here from Saturday.

Sadasiva Rao told newsmen on Friday, diabetes problem was severe in the
urban areas upto 14 percent of population while it was only 4 percent
in the rural areas.
“We have now a clear knowledge about the
pathophysiology and natural history of diabetes,’’ he said. Dr Rao said
they will be organising a ‘Foot Symposium’ on the second day. Three
international speakers Dr C Sanjeevi (Sweden), Dr Iskander Idris (UK)
and Dr Stephen Morbach (Germany) will be presented gold medals in the
conference.
While Dr V Seshaiah (Chennai) will inaugurate the
conference, Dr S Sadikot (Mumbai) deliver keynote address on ‘Recent
advances in the treatment with oral hypoglycemic agents.’ Dr Thomson,
Dr Devaka Fernando and Dr Edward Jude from UK will also be present.
Over 1,000 participants from all parts of the State will attend the
conference. |
